Asia Arena Day 2020 - Review

Corona hat uns alle im Griff und während wir alle am Anfang des Jahres noch fleißig unsere Conventions, Festivals oder Feiern geplant haben, wurden wir nach und nach immer weiter enttäuscht. Man dachte, dass es nach dem 31.08.2020 wieder bergauf gehen würde, aber so langsam bin ich selbst der Meinung, dass wir diesen Virus noch sehr lange spüren dürfen. 
Ich war also positiv überrascht als es im Sommer hieß, dass die zuvor abgesagte Asia Arena, in einer abgespeckten Version stattfinden würde und sobald ich mein Ticket gekauft hatte, war ich gespannt. 
Der "Asia Arena Day" fand dieses Jahr am 12.09.2020 statt und sollte ein buntes Bühnenprogramm bieten.. Von dem ich dieses Jahr Teil war. 
Kurz nach der offiziellen Ankündigung der Veranstaltung wurde ich von der Organisation angeschrieben, ob ich denn nicht Lust hätte ein Interview zum Thema "Cosplay" zu machen und ich überlegte nicht lange und sagte zu. Erst im Nachhinein war ich von mir persönlich sehr überrascht, da ich normalerweise nicht der Mensch bin, der so spontan zusagt, aber im Nachhinein bin ich sehr glücklich darüber. Und so bereitete ich mich also zielstrebig auf den 12.09.2020 vor. 
Ich entschied mich ziemlich früh für ein Cosplay und entgegen meiner Befürchtungen, dass ich bei dem angekündigten Wetter (26-28 Grad) in meinem Kostüm eingehen würde, ging es mir tatsächlich sehr gut an dem Tag. 
Ich hatte mich für Pennywise aus "Es" entschieden, da ich dieses Cosplay zu dem Zeitpunkt gerade erst einmal eine Woche in meinem Besitz hatte und ich Pennywise als Charakter total interessant finde. Ich wurde auch erkannt in dem Cosplay und die Situationen mit den Kindern.. Ja.. Ich musste schmunzeln. Die Kinder waren ganz fasziniert als sie mich von weitem erblickten oder wenn sie direkt hinter mir standen und mit ihren Erziehungsberechtigten darüber sprachen, aber sobald ich entweder näher kam oder mich umdrehte, erschraken sie. (Tja Pennywise, irgendwie musst du da an deiner Gestalt noch arbeiten.)

                                                   

Aber neben diesem Kostüm war die gesamte Veranstaltung für ihren Rahmen sehr schön. 
Da die Veranstaltung an der frischen Luft stattfand, musste man keine Maske tragen, ansonsten gab es beispielsweise im Bühnenbereich Stehtische, die den Mindestabstand gewährten. 
Wenn ich über die Händler spreche, so fällt mir auf, dass es für die Cosplayer zwei Stände gab (einmal das Comic-Kombinat und einmal die Künstlerin lunaneko.creations) und für die Tuner maximal einen? Auch wenn die Tuner dieses Jahr wieder die Oberhand hatten, so wäre es dennoch schön gewesen, dass auch diese Gruppe irgendeinen Stand bekommen hätte. 
Das Bühnenprogramm war breit gefächert. Ich war insgesamt vier Mal auf der Bühne, muss aber sagen, dass auch die anderen Bühnenpunkte sehr interessant waren. Allerdings fand ich es sehr schade, dass gegen Ende zwei Programmpunkte gestrichen wurden. Ja, nach dem offiziellen Ende des Cosplayteils um 17:45 Uhr circa, fuhren viele Leute bereits nach Hause, aber auf dem Plan stand, dass auch danach noch zwei Aktionen auf der Bühne stattfinden sollten. Auf Nachfrage hin wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass diese beiden Punkte nicht mehr stattfinden würden, was ich persönlich sehr schade fand. 
Auch konnten nicht alle Punkte der Stempeljagd erfüllt werden. (Die Asia Arena vergibt jedes Jahr ein Programmheft an alle Besucher in denen es immer eine Doppelseite mit Stempelflächen gibt. Wenn man spezifische Aufgaben erfüllt hat, bekommt man einen Stempel und wenn man die Mindestanzahl erreicht hat, kann man das gegen einen kleinen Preis eintauschen.) Alles in allem hätte ich mir hier eine größere Transparenz gewünscht. 
Wenn ich gerade von der Organisation spreche, kann ich gleich auch erwähnen, dass ich es dieses Jahr klasse fand, dass man 20€ für das Ticket gezahlt hat, aber ein Essen und einen Softdrink inklusive hatte. Leider muss ich auch hier wieder einen kleinen Punkt abziehen, da das Personal im Arena Diner unterbesetzt war und sich gerade gegen Mittag eine riesige Schlange an Menschen gebildet hatte. (Das kann ich nur anderen Aussagen entnehmen, da ich selbst erst gegen 16:00 Uhr mein Mittagessen zu mir genommen habe.)
Ich muss noch anmerken, dass ich es wunderbar fand eine kleine Goodiebag zu erhalten. Sie war vielerlei bestückt und auch wenn ich nicht der größte Auto-Fan bin, so konnte ich meinen jüngeren Bruder mit ein-zwei Sachen aus dieser Tüte glücklich machen. 
Alles in allem kann ich sagen, dass mir der "Asia Arena Day" dieses Jahr sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat und auch wenn ich vier Mal auf der Bühne stand und am Ende des Tages nicht wusste, wo die Zeit geblieben ist, bedanke ich mich hiermit noch einmal. Es hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht und wenn die "Asia Arena" nächstes Jahr wieder jemanden auf der Bühne braucht, dann melde ich mich freiwillig. (Bis auf den Cosplaywettbewerb, da nehme ich gern als Teilnehmer wieder teil!)
Es gab organisatorisch einige Schnitzer, aber die verzeihe ich, da ich einfach nur froh bin, dass dieses Jahr überhaupt etwas in Richtung Convention stattgefunden hat. 
Ich nutze das hier auch gleich, um zu sagen, dass ich dieses Jahr auf keiner weiteren Convention unterwegs sein werde. Ich wünsche allen, die noch welche besuchen, viel Spaß. Ich bin dann lieber noch auf anderen Veranstaltungen und Shootings unterwegs.

Planmäßig bin ich definitiv nächstes Jahr wieder mit von der Partie, da die Asia Arena eine meiner liebsten Conventions ist. Ich freue mich schon!

Hello,
Corona makes everything difficult for us and while we were planning conventions, festivals or partys at the beginning of the year, we were disappointed. 
Everyone thought, that it'll be better after 31st August (rules were changed that day in Germany) but I'm sure that this virus will stay a bit longer. 
I was surprised in summer, when I was informed about the fact, that the "Asia Arena" would take place and as soon as I bought my ticket, I was excited. 
"Asia Arena Day" took place at 12th September and it should have good stage events.. where I was a part of. 
Shortly after the official announcement of the event, I got a message from the organisation saying if I would be interested in an interview about "Cosplay" and I didn't need much time until I said "Yes.". Just after some time I realised that I'm normally not the spontaneous person, but after all I'm quite happy about that. And I started preparing myself for the 12th September. 
I decided to cosplay Pennywise from "It" that day and contrary to my thoughts about dying in this costume according to the weather (78,8 fahrenheit), I was feeling very well that day. Pennywise is a newer cosplay, it got recognized very often and I had some funny situations with kids.. Yes.. I had to smirk. The children were fascinated by my costume as long as they saw me from further away or they saw my back, as soon as I got closer or I turned around, they were scared. (Pennywise? You have to work on that.)
But besides my costume the whole event was very nice. 
Since it took place outside, you haven't got to wear a mask. In front of the stage were high tables to keep the minimum distance. 
As I'm talking about the shops, I've got to say that there were two shops for the cosplayers and one? for the tuning fans. Even though there were more tuners than cosplayers this year, it would be pretty nice to have at least two shops for both categories.
As I said before the stage events were different. I was on stage for about four time but I have to say that the other ones were cool too. But I think, it's sad that after 5:45 pm everything changed. They didn't do the last two events on the plan. Maybe they didn't do it because many people left before 6pm. It was a pitty.
It's also not nice that you couldn't fill every single stamp for the stamp hunt. (Every visitor gets a small event booklet at the beginning of every "Asia Arena". There's always one-two pages for a stamp hunt. If you complete specific tasks, you'll get a stamp and if you reach the minimum number of stamps, you'll get a small prize.) All in all it would have been better, if they worked more transparent. 

                                                   

As I'm talking about the organisation, I have to mention that it was pretty nice to pay 20€ and get a free meal and soft drink. Sadly I also have to mention that the Arena Diner was understaffed. During lunch there was a huge queue. (I can only refer to other people because I ate lunch around 4pm.)
I have to say, that it was pretty nice to get a goodie bag. It was stuffed with different things and even though I'm not the biggest car fan, I could give some things to my younger brother who was very excited about everything. 
In conclusion the "Asia Arena Day" was very much fun this year and even though I was on stage for four times and I can't really remember how fast time flow, I have to thank them again. It was extremly nice to be on stage and if the "Asia Arena" needs help somehow next year, I'll be there. (Except for the cosplay contest, because I want to be a participant!)
There were some mistakes but I wouldn't consider them as huge because I'm just happy to be able to visit something like a convention this year. 
I'm also using this to tell you that I'm not going to any other convention this year. To all of you, who do, have fun! But I'm going to visit other events or shootings.

I'll be there again next year, because the "Asia Arena" is one of my favourite conventions. I'm excited!
